Brady has never been known for his lightning speed, but he’s clearly shown some improvement since entering the NFL as a sixth-round pick out of Michigan in 2000. In fact, the old Tom Brady 40 time belongs to his younger, slower self.
Tom Brady’s 40 yard dash time is faster now than at the 2000 NFL combine
Tom Brady has worked hard to remain in peak physical shape.
And according to the stopwatch, Brady ran his fastest 40-yard dash ever, at 5.17 seconds. While at the 2000 NFL combine, he ran an unremarkable if infamous 5.28.
Tom Brady’s 40 time is an amazing accomplishment. He shows no signs of slowing down and is playing some of the best football of his life into his 40’s.
How can Tom Brady be so good at the age of 40
For Tom Brady, that just isn’t the case. The quarterback plays like he’s in an extended prime and is considered one of the greatest competitors to ever play football.
And although Brady has never been classified as a speedster, he’s still proven to be faster in his 40-year-old body than he was in his 20-year-old body.
And while everyone seems to have an opinion on the whole TB12 method thing, some are finally starting to trust in it and see what it can do. This is one of those training techniques that has divided the public. Some insist it’s a brilliant way to strengthen muscles and other key areas of the body, while others claim that it’s unethical or just plain stupid.
Critics aside, Brady has been doing his routine for a long time now, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down or becoming weaker.
Unless you’re the true GOAT of speed
All kidding aside, Brady is never going to win a footrace over Lamar Jackson. We can’t make him taller. Morph him into a different shape, but what he has done is train the parts of his game that are going to allow him to overcome some of these other perceived weaknesses.
For Brady, it’s his mindset that has really made a difference. His thought process. The way he prepares beforehand, approaches the game, or setups each play.
Tom Brady has six Super Bowl rings, four Super Bowl MVP awards, and has won NFL MVP honors three times. 2019 was Brady’s 20th NFL season, making him one of the longest-tenured players in league history. But man, that 40 time and subsequent performances are still something to marvel at every year.
